Adam is an award winning fine art photographer currently living in the interior of Alaska whose lifetime love affair with photography began when he picked up his mother’s Kodak Instamatic in the late 1970’s. Born on the Oregon coast, it is not surprising that seascapes and lighthouses are some of his favorite things to photograph. When he is not at the coast or home, Adam enjoys spending time creating imagines in places like Arches, Bryce, Yellowstone, Glacier and Yosemite National Parks.

‬ ‬

Splitting his teenage years between Northern and Southern California, Adam searched for the best photographic opportunities. He found California rich in subject matter and further honed his fine arts skills in places like San Francisco, Santa Cruz, the Monterey Peninsula, the vast Mojave Desert, and the immense Pacific Coastline.

‬ ‬

In 1996, Adam joined the United States Air Force where he served for six years. During this time he traveled extensively both in the United States as well as throughout Germany, Bahrain, and Oman. Following his time in the Air Force Adam worked for various Federal and State Agencies until life happened and a change was needed. That led him to rediscover one of his first loves, Photography.

‬ ‬

Adam’s main interest is in black and white photography. As a child Adam enjoyed the works of the masters like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. In addition to a passion for black and white photography, both digital and film, Adam has found a new passion in what he likes to refer to as “Radom Insanity”. Each of these pieces begin as a photograph and is then transformed into something more by his creatively insane, no rules, “just feel” approach. This approach is more about lines, shapes, colors and feeling than it is about the “traditional rules” of photography.

‬ ‬

When he is not behind the lens, you will find Adam engaged in any number of outdoor activities from hunting, fishing, or dirt biking. Really it doesn’t matter as long as he is outdoors, he is happiest. Adam also enjoys spending time with his wife and their many nephews and his nieces.
